August 19th was another scorcher, but the 68 cats "fixed" and the 15+ volunteers of the Feral Bureau of Indiana stayed cool at our monthly Care Day high-volume spay/Neuter event.
We had a visit from Amy Van Ostrand and another volunteer from Indiana-PAW . They were shooting video of the care day as part of their Heroes in the Heartland project. We gave them tours, interviews and full access to all the volunteers and activities. We are very proud to be able to participate in their project, and eagerly look forward to seeing the end result! As usual, we all ate very well with a variety of pitch in dishes, as well as pizzas. To make things even more fun, we celebrated the birthday of both of our veterinarians with tropical themes. It was a lot of hard work, but it was a lot of fun...and very rewarding! Thanks to all who made it happen!! |

As Care Days go, it was an "uneventful" event, but the 15+ volunteers, including 2 volunteer veterinarians managed to provide surgeries, vaccinations and care for 68 cats!
